Electrical stimulation sends light, controlled pulses into tight or irritated muscle. We deliver it with an LSI System IV interferential muscle stimulator, used within the manufacturer's labeled indications, through soft pads placed on the skin over the area we are treating. Interferential current is aimed at calming muscle spasm and taking the edge off discomfort.
The settings are matched to the area being treated and to you, not run the same way for every patient. Before we start, we will explain why we are recommending it for your case, where the pads go, and what the sensation feels like, usually a light tingle or a gentle tapping. Nothing about it is invasive, and you can tell us at any point if you want it turned down.
E-stim is an adjunct, not a stand-alone fix. We use it alongside adjustments and the other therapy in your plan, and we will talk through where it fits before we add it to a visit. If we do not think it belongs in your care, we will tell you that too.
