Animal chiropractic, more precisely called animal musculoskeletal manipulation, is regulated as veterinary care under Texas law rather than as ordinary chiropractic practice. That means the steps to get your pet seen are different from a human visit. Willie Ow, D.C., holds specialized certification in animal chiropractic and performs this care in our Plano office.
Before your pet is treated, your veterinarian needs to refer or recommend chiropractic care and sign a written authorization. We provide all the forms your vet needs to sign, so you are not left chasing paperwork. Your vet does not need to be on site during the visit, but that signed authorization does need to be on file before we begin.
The work itself is hands-on and species appropriate, applied to specific joints and aimed at restoring motion to the joint. If your pet has not seen a veterinarian recently, start there. Once your vet has signed off, call us at (972) 596-1611 and we will get your pet on the schedule.
