Cupping uses gentle suction instead of pressure, which makes it close to the opposite of a deep-tissue massage. The cups draw the skin and soft tissue upward rather than pressing down. That lift is aimed at loosening tight areas that don't always respond as well to hands-on work alone.
We most often use it as an adjunct alongside an adjustment, especially for tight shoulders or a stiff back. Whether it belongs in your plan depends on your exam and what you tell us, and we'll say so honestly if it isn't a fit. It's never the whole plan on its own.
Expect some temporary marks on the skin afterward. They're a normal part of the technique, not a sign something went wrong. We'll walk you through what the session involves and what to expect before we start, so none of it catches you off guard.
